Mount Isolation; 4006 ft - 3/11/07

Trailhead on route 16

Pretzels from Chex mix. Made some squirrell a nice snack I'd guess.

Federal wilderness boundary, no signs, markings, bridges or bycicles among other things.

No bridges means some unlucky person ahead of us broke through the snow into the river

Mount Isolation from the trail

The snow bridge that collapsed under me. Fortunately I got out quickly and stayed dry

Ryan with the peanut butter Chex mix

I got stuck in this spruce trap and crawled out...

...and fell into this one

Ryan stuck in one

Makeshift gate blocking the spruce traps

The summit up ahead

Ryan on the Davis Path and 6 feet of snow

Ryan on the summit, the only shot we got there before all three sets of batteries died at once :-(

Looking south towards Carrigan and the Hancock's

Where do you guys get that energy?? Now let me get this straight, are you married to Rynn or Jenn because i see more of Rynn than I do of Jenn. Stewie

That's where the energy comes from--chasing each other up the mountain and playing a little grab-ass in the tent. It's okay guys, we all know.

The week before Derek decided to leave his boots at home.

We get the energy from gorging ourselves at Bugaboo Creek before every hike. Ask Brett, he'll tell you. I wish there was more with Jen but she's off making the big bucks on weekends unfortunately and doesn't have the equipment for winter hiking. Summer will be here soon and there'll be lots of her then.
