Champney Falls Trail 3-3-07

Trail Signs

Perfect day for a hike. 40 degrees and sun.

There were about 30-40 ice climbers at the falls halfway up

We took a break here and watched them climb for a few minutes. Looked like a lot of fun

After that the trail was not packed well so we needed snowshoes. These are the cheap plastic ones mike borrowed from his friend

This is Mike falling a few steps later when his cheap shoes broke

Mike in his new Elmer Fudd hat, covered in snow from constantly falling over

This is about halfway up just short of where Mike called it quits

This is about Mikes 50th fall. He called it a day right after this, stating "I'm not tired, my legs just don't work anymore"

Maybe the hat came from Ah-shwa-bee-johns??? I can sympathize with the whole "legs not working" thing. This guy knows what I'm talkin' about. Yeah. Advice for Mike...if you choose a time where you may embarass yourself, don't do it around Derek or Ryan. More specifically Derek. Those damn Fieldsends carry cameras like they're the paparazzi! Now you know. You should have sent the Abominable Snowman over to Derek with a drink and have it say it's on the house. Problem solved!

I'm always good for some random, useless information. Good thing Derek's married. That Abominable Snowman was looking gooooood!

I would have enjoyed the drink while waiting for Mike to get up off the ground. If I can figure out how there will be videos soon. Fortunately I have the only copy of the other rumored story so you can't prove anything. Unfortunately however the papparazzi didn't have a camera when Brett hiked with us. It wouldn't have been a pretty picture, but it would have been a funny one. Hopefully he will join us again soon.

Well, my last excursion with you guys I learned four very important lessons:

1. Don't do a serious leg workout
the day before.

2. Don't eat a pound of pasta the
night before.

3. Don't think that Derek and
Teet-head won't hurry down the
mountain ahead of you to lock
you out of the restroom.

4. Wear multiple pairs of underwear
or bring some TP.

Listen. Learn. Live.
