Wildlife & Beaches

Last Sunday we went up to the Maine Wildlife Preserve in Gray for the day where the girls got to see pretty much all the animals you might come across in the woods around our part of the country. We packed a picnic lunch and then went around the park before going to LL Bean to get some flip flops and stuffed animals. They both really enjoyed it the park and there's a bunch of pictures of the animals that I know many people may not want to see but I thought the girls might like to see them again so they're in the album. It's a great place to spend the afternoon, especially for kids if you're looking for something to do with them. Only an hour away, if you don't make a wrong turn, then it's an hour and 45 minutes. Either way it's fun once you get there. Pretty much like a zoo only with woodland instead of exotic animals.

We've also gone to the beach on a couple nice afternoons for dinner, walks and a picnic lunch. It usually turns out a bit cool and breezy down there this time of year, but it's still nice to get the fresh air and sunshine. We've explored the trails, beaches and forts at Odiorne State Park further and Brooke loves to throw rocks and look for sea glass, so we usually stop somewhere to check for it in our travels. We're getting quite the collection since we started it last July on Chebeague. Emily doesn't quite get it and keeps putting rocks in the bag but she's trying. She wanders all over the beaches and paths now. Pretty amazing for someone who was still crawling a month ago.

So, there's pictures of a lot of that here if you want to see them. Other than that not a lot else is going on with us. Brooke asked to go on a hike tomorrow but the weather isn't looking so hot for that. We may go looking for beavers since she saw them on Go Diego Go and now wants to go find one. We'll see. Then next weekend Jen and I are going to Bar Harbor for our Christmas present to each other. There should be plenty of pictures from that if you're interested so check back in a little while. That's all for now.
