5-19-2007; Mt. Tecumseh

Ryan and I went on a quick hike up Mt. Tecumseh Saturday. It is the shortest of the 4000 footers, at 4003 feet, and the trail is only 5 miles total but is has a good amount of climbing (2200) feet so it's still a workout. It was an enjoyable hike on a rainy day except for the rash I got from the waterproofing on my windbreaker. I have never been so itchy in all my life. It felt like a thousand mosquito bites all over and even rinsing off in a cold stream didn't help. My eyebrows looked swollen like a cave man and my fingers were too swollen to get my wedding ring off. It was a miserable half hour to the nearest store to get Benedryl and half an hour more until it kicked in. Thank God for Pharmaceuticals. Click here or on the picture for more.
