Happy 2015!!
Well it's hard to believe January is almost over already. I'm trying to keep up with the blog more but haven't had a whole lot to post yet this year. There was the annual big new years eve beer tasting at my parents with a good sized crowd this year and plenty of food and beer to taste. Then this week we went up to Loon to use my parents time share for the first half of the week and then swapped out with them for the second half. The weather wasn't great except on the day we were leaving (of course) but we managed to have a lot of fun with the girls in a few days anyhow. Swimming, riding the train, seeing the ice castle, sledding and a snowshoe trip filled much of our time there. Everyone had a great time and the girls were sad to leave but eventually it was back to the real world. For a bunch of pictures from the extra long holiday weekend you can click right here.
To start the year off the weekend after New Year's Ryan, Steven and I headed for the Adirondacks for a hike. It was supposed to be a camping trip but with a storm coming in that afternoon we tried to get home after cutting the hike short and climbing Giant Mountain, only to wind up stranded in Lake George, which in winter is a ghost town. Fortunately the local brewery was open for dinner and then a second bar so we could watch the games. That was it, the rest of the town was boarded up right down to the McDonalds. I think we made the best of it and after deicing in the morning slowly made our way home. Not exactly what we had planned for the weekend but it could have been a lot worse too. That's about it for us so far this year. Everyone has been battling colds and ear aches and conjunctivitis and who knows what else but we're all headed in the right direction. Emily turns the big 0-4 next week and is very excited about it. Hope everyone is having a good 2015 so far and check back soon. If I have anything worth putting up I will.
