Once again it's been a while since our last update. It's been a busy but wonderful holiday season for us this year. Christmas is just a few days away now and the girls are very excited about everything this year. They love the trees (which they've decorated 3 of) the lights, the songs, the elf on a shelf and everything else that comes along with this great time of year. On top of that if you didn't know by now Jen is pregnant again and has been feeling sick quite a bit with this one unfortunately. Other than the sickness were very excited about it and happy to say so far everything is going well with that.
Thanksgiving was fun, busy as always and not terribly relaxing, but fun. We went up to the White Mountains again this year to cut down a Christmas tree for the tall room of the house, which ended up being about 15 feet or so after the trimming was finished. Then we spent a few days down on Cape Cod and in Newport, Rhode Island relaxing and visiting the mansions that were all decorated for Christmas. The girls did great with that, they surprisingly really liked the mansions, which they called princess castles, and all the decorations so we spent a lot of time wandering through four of the biggest ones. They really got excited checking out everything from the tea sets to the bath tubs to the canopy beds. If you've never been they're pretty impressive and neat to wander through. The largest of them is The Breakers at 65,000 square feet, 70 rooms and would cost about 335 million dollars to build today. It's the 13th largest house in America and they used it for about 6 weeks a year often only on weekends when it was still an actual residence.
We've also had the Kukesh side of the family's Christmas party, where we had a great time and saw everyone on that side of the family except Peter and Katie. Travis had his birthday in there also and Brooke had her first Christmas Concert at school. In between all that we've been making cookies, ornaments, looking at lights and of course shopping and wrapping presents. Busy, busy, busy but tons of fun. The last couple days Emily had been sick with a fever of 103+ so that slowed things down a little but the Christmas season should finish with a flurry of activity as long as she gets better quickly.
That's about it but that's probably about enough for now. I've got quite a few pictures and have them broken down into two albums, pretty much the trip to the Cape and Newport and the rest of the holiday activities in the other one. Click on either one to get to those pictures. There's also a few videos below from Brooke's concert below if you're interested. They're all about a minute long so if you'd like to see them just click away. Check back soon as there's probably going to be a lot more from Christmas shortly. If we don't see you hope yours is wonderful this year and have a safe and happy new year!
