Nothing terribly exciting but there are a few new pictures here from a little hike we went on today. We got Brooke some actual hiking boots at Timberland today and decided to take advantage of the nice afternoon and break them in a bit so we went up Stratham Hill again. Brooke loved her boots and for the first time she went all the way to the top of the tower. She was pretty proud of herself for being so "brave"as she put it. Emily was actually awake for this trip also so she got to see most of the hill for the first time and while there were a few black flies out they weren't much of a problem. There aren't a whole lot of pictures of much except the girls so if you'd like to see them just click here.
Also if the weather stays as forecast and the bugs are in check we'll be going on a few little hikes this weekend. I'm thinking either Brooke's favorite (Agamenticus) in York or maybe Blue Job in Farmington on Saturday for something different and then our plan is to go to Pawtuckaway on Sunday. Hopefully the snow farther north melts soon and we can head up that way too. For now we're staying kind of local and small but if you want to go call or e-mail Jen or I and we'll fill you in on the details. Bye for now.
I think with the nice weekend

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter everyone! Things were a little different for us this year than most so we didn't get to see everyone we usually do. If we missed you hopefully we'll see you elsewhere sometime soon. I'll just put these pictures up this time without my usual book as Jen calls it. I'm tired and you probably don't need me to explain Easter egg hunts anyhow so without further delay you can click here for pictures from the busy day plus a few others.
Also, right now they're calling for sunshine and 60's on Saturday afternoon so if the black flies aren't out we'll probably be headed for Pawtuckaway if you want to join us around 12:30 or so. Just let Jen or I know you're interested. We're happy to have anyone to wants to go along. Bye for now.

We just got finished with a busy weekend. With the nice weather Saturday we decided to get outdoors some more and enjoy it while it lasted. Saturday we went back to Brooke's new favorite mountain because she wanted to take Greg and Anne on a hike there. We did some different trails and it made the hike almost 2 1/2 miles, which Brooke did all by herself I'm proud to say. The weather was great to be out for people and wildlife I that day. Besides it being fairly busy on the trails we saw a snake and a porcupine. They sound surprisingly like babies talking when they're angry and Brooke got a kick out of it. There aren't a whole lot of picture from that trip as there were two recent posts from the same place but there are a few of the latest hike up Agamenticus and the porcupine.
Then on Sunday it was even nicer out so we went for a short hike up Stratham Hill to get some sunshine and fresh 60 degree air. Brooke wanted to go hiking with her friend Evy and Bapcia joined us too. About halfway up we ran into her friend Jack and his mom who also joined us which made for a busy trip. The kids had lots of fun on the hike and at the playground after. We did lunch at BK and then to wrap up the weekend went fishing with Travis and his friends. Brooke had fun reeling it in but no patience to actually let the bobber sit and maybe catch something. Probably too early in the season to catch much anyways but as she put it we didn't catch any fish, just worms. It was nice to just be outside though.
That wrapped up our busy weekend. If you're interested in more pictures of all this you can click here. That's all for now.

Brooke Climbs The Big A
Wednesday afternoon we wanted to take advantage of the nice weather and take the girls out for some fresh air and sunshine. We decided the 51 degree temps with sun were nice enough to try Mt. Agamenticus. We made the half hour drive after lunch and were on the trails by 2:30 or so. It only took Brooke about an hour to reach the summit and she seemed to love doing it, even though a few times she said "this is hard". She pushed on and did great. Emily was also very cooperative (she slept the whole way) so I guess we all had a nice hike. Brooke made the half mile 300 foot climb in about 45 minutes and with a break at the top the whole hike was about 2 hours. After the hike we went to the beach to use the playground, feed Emily and feed the seagulls. It was a fun afternoon out. If you want to see more of it just click right here.

Galehead
This past weekend Greg and I went for an overnight trip to the White Mountains. We had planned to attempt a traverse of the Presidential range but the forecasted winds of 80+ mph made us think twice. Instead we decided to knock something off the short list of 4000 footers he has left in NH. An overnight trip to Galehead and then either the Twins or Garfield was our plan but after 7 miles of hiking through 6-24 inches of new snow from the latest spring storm we were spent and ended up just doing Galehead and heading back the way we came. He needed it for his list and I needed it for the list of peaks I've done at least twice so it worked out just fine. We had a great time and got to experience more of the winter that just won't end, especially up there. To check out the pictures from the trip just click right here.
Also I'm thinking, if the weather is warm enough for the girls, the afternoon of Sunday the 17th might be when we go hike Pawtuckaway. If that doesn't work out maybe the afternoon of Saturday the 23rd. Anyone who wants to go is welcome to join, just let us know.
