For our Memorial Day feast we went and got the family special at Gepettos, our local pizza place. Jen really wanted pizza for dinner and for 10.99 you get a large cheese pizza, large fries and a 1 liter soda. Not too shabby. It gives us dinner and Jen lunch the next day every time we get it. Since we now have a family we ordered it and went and found this little park on the river downtown. It's a memorial to Richard Schanda, also known as Joe Dixx if you ever saw his columns on the outdoors in the papers. It was a great place we never even knew about near the town docks with picnic tables and a walk along the river if you wanted. We just ate there today but we'll be back for the walk I'm sure. It was a beautiful evening with no bugs in sight and we capped it off with an ice cream at Kaleida-Scoops in Durham and a drive along the bay. Later Danny, Rachel and their friend Amanda stopped by for the Celtics game. Pics here if you like.

Happy Memorial Day!
Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone. I haven't heard of any cookout's this year so we're just going to stay here and try to rest some more. I got to go play some golf and hang out around the area, no big hiking trips for me this weekend but hopefully soon. If anyone's interested in joining me sometime let me know and I'll keep you updated on my plans but it won't be for a few weeks until the black flies are gone. Everyone is tired but doing well, hope you all are too and here's a few pics from this week and a few video's below.Loving her new swing

Visiting Grammy C and Grampa
Today we finally went to visit Grammy C and Grampa's. Paul and Travis had been sick since last weekend and staying away from her. They are finally better so we went to visit. She's changed a lot in the last week and looks totally different than the last time they saw her. Dre also stopped over to see her for the first time, yet another new face. She slept almost the entire time so I'm afraid she wont sleep well tonight but there was no waking her, we tried. Here's some pictures from the visit.
Daddy and Brooke blogging
Anybody out there know how to get a baby to sleep at 3 am or better yet how to not think that is the best time of day to be wide awake? Since Jen and I don't Brooke and I are putting up some pictures from todays events (as well as last night's 3 am sleepless period). She's not upset or fidgety, just wide awake and happy so I guess it could be worse. At least this time I don't have to get up for work at 5:45 tomorrow. Anyhow, today she got to meet her cousins Tyler and Anna as well as Uncle Chris and Aunt Katie. I'm sure she enjoyed seeing them as much as we did. And of course there's a bunch of pictures here and a video of her wide awake at 3 am below.Thursday, May 15, 2008
One week old today
Today Brooke turned one week old. She's seen a lot of new faces in that week and today she got to meet great grammy Betty and aunt Karen. She didn't really wake up for the visit, just opened her eyes for a few seconds. She also lost her cord today which thrilled Jen (I'll spare you those pics) but here's a few more from her 1 week anniversary.

May 14, 2008
Well I turned 31 years old today and my baby girl turned 6 days old. It was a good day for me. We slept in, gave Brooke a bath, had a good visit with the nurse (Brooke gained another 4 ounces), my parents came by and I got to play some golf too. What more could you want. Tomorrow it's back to work so my father doesn't have to kill himself covering for me but I really appreciated and enjoyed the time off. This weekend she'll meet her cousins for the first time. She can't say but I know she's as excited as we are to see them. There's a few pictures here of today's events, that's about it for now.Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Day 5
Another good day for Brooke. Both her grammy's came by for a little while and helped us out around the house which we really needed and then she went for a quick walk out into the world. She even got to wear a pair of her baby Jordan booties her uncle Danny got her. He and Rachel stopped over for a quick dinner and visit and and then she was ready for bed. The updates won't always happen as frequently but while I'm off from work this this week every time she feeds I have 45 minutes to kill so here's a few more pictures of our little one.
4000 Footers Scroll
My 4000 footers scroll arrived while we were in the hospital. So if you're sick of baby pictures (which I can understand because I never wanted to see hundreds of pictures of other peoples kids either) here's a picture of the scroll. It's missing three of the peaks, bonus points if you know which ones. If you aren't sick of baby pictures there's more comming soon because I just can't get enough of her.
Photo's for sale! Mouse pads, coffee mugs, t-shirts here! Come and get it (if you're interested)
Well we finally got a decent amount of sleep last night so we're ready for any more healthy visitors who might want to come by. You're welcome any time but she's usually wide awake around 4-5 in the morning and afternoon. Other than that it's hit or miss.
The photo's are up the Wal-Mart site if you'd like to print any or make mugs/t-shirts/ mouse pads or any of the other stuff they sell. I don't exactly know how to share the photo's unless you send me your e-mail or leave it in a response, then I will add you to the share list on the site or I guess you can sign into my account and take it from there and use the one time payment or pay at store method. Also I'd suggest using the true digital feature so they don't get cropped and lose the edges. Just in case any people stumble across this site you'll need my password which is the type of car I drive, no capitals and my username is 3fieldsends@comcast.net. That's not my usual e-mail so if you try and write to me there I probably won't get it for a long time. If you want to write for any reason I use drf77@aol.com. Everyone is doing great here and thanks for checking in.

Mother's Day and 4 Days Old
Here's a few more pictures from her two busy days. She's changing so fast it's like she's not the same person she was 4 days ago. She looks different and is much more active and hungry too. Her eye's are open for an hour or so at a time now a few times a day. She's developing her own little personality too. I'm going to link up pictures on the Wal-Mart site tomorrow so people can order them if they want to. I think they're only like 19 cents a piece for one hour and 15 for next day. Anyhow, today she started by getting up a 3 AM and staying wide awake until she ate a 6. Then she puked on herself and got a shampoo. After that she spent the day with Jen and Nana Ford. She peed all over our comforter and visited with the new neighbor until we took her to the doctors for a check up. She has gained 2 oz's since we left the hospital Saturday which is really good I guess. Then we went and got her a pink hat and sleep sack because some guy called her a he in the elevator. Time to stock up on pink stuff I guess. Anyways here's a few more pictures of her if you want. We'll be sleeping in tomorrow finally but we'll be around if anyone want to come visit.

Hello World
I know it's been said before, but I couldn't resist. She decided to be active today for a few hours which is the longest she's been up yet so I took some video. I just figured out how to post video's here so there will be lots more. For those of you who can't be here right now or maybe, like us, just can't get enough I'll keep you updated frequently. It's not really exciting but her eye's were open so here's her debut, hello world.
Just one more quick one for now of her with the hiccups in the hospital.

Brooke's first 48 hours

Brooke is home safe and sound. 48 hours has flown by and we got home from the hospital a little while ago. It's very nerve racking knowing this person depends on us for every single thing and there's no nurses to call with the touch of a button for questions. It's hard to imagine that two days ago we didn't even know who was in there and now we can't imagine it ever being aynyone else. Suddenly eveything we went through with this pregnancy is worth it and forgotten now that we have a healthy little girl. Our very own little angel. Sure she has some big feet and a cone head for a few weeks, but to us she's perfect.
We're going to try and get some sleep tonight, we've had about 6 hours since Thursday morning and need it badly but we should be somewhat recoverd by tomorrow afternoon if anyone want's to stop over. Give a call for directions. Just be sure not to have a cold or anything, sorry doctors orders. Here's some pictures , ok a lot of pictures, of her first days and thank you to everyone who visited, called and sent along well wishes. Hope to see you all soon.

And the winner is...
Well it appears Brett (and anyone else who picked girl) was right when he said only a girl would take this long to get ready. Brooke Marie Fieldsend was born at 9:15 PM on May 8th. She was 7 Pounds 12 ounces and 20.5 inches long, exactly the same size as her mother was when she was born. I'm very happy that I can say both Mom and baby are doing great and everything went well. This is just a quick update, I don't have my camera with me but there will be plenty of pictures by Sunday night. We're taking visitors and will be home in a few days. Hope to see everyone soon.

What's it going to be?
Well, still no baby. One week to go at most. For now we're just hanging around on a rainy Sunday waiting and being frustarted with the false labor. I already watched the Celts and Sox, painted a door and traced my Fieldsend family history back to England in 1810 when Samuel was born, the guy who immigrated over here to start a new life I guess. Now we've decided to put up a poll for anyone who wants just to vote, just to see what you think the baby will be. Feel free to vote with the link below or click the picture to get there.http://www.micropoll.com/akira/mpview/421094-87688
